We’re hir­ing a staff accountant

Har­bour Homes, LLC is seek­ing a Staff Accoun­tant to specif­i­cal­ly focus on our land acqui­si­tion and devel­op­ment (A&D) process­es. Estab­lished in 1983, we are a pri­vate­ly held, lean and grow­ing com­pa­ny. Our employ­ees are an active bunch; we run, ride bikes, hike, play sports and enjoy a casu­al, but entre­pre­neur­ial work envi­ron­ment, com­pet­i­tive com­pen­sa­tion and ben­e­fits and free park­ing. We are locat­ed in Seat­tle in the heart of the Fre­mont neighborhood.

Posi­tion Overview:

In sum­ma­ry, the A&D Staff Accoun­tant posi­tion will ini­tial­ly be respon­si­ble for work­ing exten­sive­ly inside of our Sage 300 CRE and Builder MT WMS sys­tems to:

  • Set up A&D jobs
  • Import A&D bud­gets for vari­ance tracking
  • Set up accounts payable cod­ing templates
  • Code A&D invoic­es monthly
  • Pre­pare joint check requests for A&D projects
  • Man­age our A&D mod­el tem­plate and revi­sions to it
  • Pre­pare A&D loan draw requests
  • Main­tain A&D budgets
  • Report and com­mu­ni­cate bud­get to actu­al reports monthly
  • Pre­pare A&D relat­ed entries and reconciliations
  • Main­tain A&D sum­ma­ry reports; and, most importantly,
  • Inde­pen­dent­ly inves­ti­gate and trou­bleshoot data when the account­ing does not pro­ceed as expected

In addi­tion to the A&D spe­cif­ic respon­si­bil­i­ties not­ed above, this posi­tion will assist with oth­er tasks with­in the account­ing depart­ment, pos­si­bly includ­ing: finan­cial state­ment prepa­ra­tion, new home com­mu­ni­ty bud­gets, and oth­er report­ing and projects as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree in account­ing or a relat­ed field (i.e. Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion w/​Account­ing Emphasis)


  • Three years of account­ing expe­ri­ence preferred
  • Knowl­edge of the Sage 300 Con­struc­tion and Real Estate Account­ing Sys­tem (for­mer­ly Sage Tim­ber­line Office) is pre­ferred but not required
  • Past expe­ri­ence in a res­i­den­tial or com­mer­cial con­struc­tion firm help­ful, but not required
  • Strong com­put­er skills includ­ing MS Excel and Word
  • Effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tor both ver­bal­ly (espe­cial­ly over the phone) and in writing
  • Work eth­ic and dri­ve to get things done right and on time
  • Abil­i­ty to work col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with employ­ees at all lev­els of the organization
